Preparation
Clean out all areas to receive caulk down to sound wood or masonry. Remove all
mildew, wax, dried-out fillers and powdery residue. Scrape off loose paint. Remove
any rust or oil from metal surfaces. Wash the surface, rinse and let it dry.
AFM recommends using
SafeChoice Super Clean.
Old wood surfaces may require priming.
If any wood is rotted, repair as needed. Do not caulk over rotted wood.
With painters’ tape, mask any surrounding areas where you do not want caulk to smear.
Cleanup
Clean tools and equipment while still wet with
SafeChoice Super Clean and warm water.
